Galveston Helicopters has a private heliport in Galveston, TX located at Scholes International Airport (KGLS). From this heliport, we support deep-water production crew changes in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. We also have light utility helicopters that support offshore gas pipeline operations. We have a diverse mix of medium twin-engine helicopters as well as light single-engine helicopters working there. We also support the United States Coast Guard with oil tanker inspection when they arrive at the Galveston Offshore Lightering Area (GOLA).
Oil & Gas
Galveston Helicopters primarily supports oil & gas clients from our Galveston heliport. We fly our Leonardo AW139 and Sikorsky S76 C++ helicopters to oil fields as far as 160 miles south of Galveston. Our helicopters are equipped with the best available equipment that the industry has to offer.
Search and Rescue
Galveston Helicopters’ Search and Rescue (SAR) operation is second to none. Regardless of where your emergency may be located in the Gulf of Mexico, you are assured that your employees can, and will, be reached in the fastest time possible. Adding to the aircraft’s basic SAR capabilities are enhancements such as the Goodrich dual hoist system, night vision (NVG), Nightsun, and an integrated auto hover with search pattern modes.
Emergency Medical Services
Together, Galveston Helicopters and Priority 1 Air Rescue (P1AR) offer full-service SAR/EMS capability and turnkey solutions to offshore oil & gas companies located in the Gulf of Mexico for a 24-hour SAR and advanced life support paramedic resource.
Galveston Helicopters has light single-engine helicopters that can be used to support utility missions such as pipeline inspections and aerial survey work. We recently were very busy assisting with Hurricane Harvey disaster relief efforts.
